It's my dads but I would much rather have it than mine, it rides great, the only thing it needs is a chainguide and its good to go, we also put a short cage on it so the chain wouldnt slap as much

Well, Its been a pretty solid bike for me! My old bike was a 5inch travel AM bike, so this is a pretty big upgrade for me. I'll start with the good things.
-Its a sweet build for a good price, you get top of the line parts for not too much.
-you also get a good warranty if something happens!
Here are the bad things.
-Its pretty heavy at 43 pounds, definitely not a bike to pedal on a trail
-The chainstay has snapped on me when I was doing a 6 foot drop. I was lucky I didnt get hurt or anything.
In conclusion, If you are a big freerider, doing huge hucks and such, I wouldnt get it. For me, I only do things as big as 10 foot drops and nothing much larger. If you live close to a jamis dealer like I do, then I would say get it. I get excellent service at a store that is only 4 miles away. Hope I was helpful!

the bike itself has good parts on it, but i have snapped the frame twice, i mean jamis fixed it under warrranty both times, but if you get one chances are it might snap.

Damn dude your really hanging in there. I had problems with my Norco's before I switched to Transition. I'm almost as bummed as you, I hate seeing people with down and out rides.

I run a 600 pound spring and I weigh 185 and never have bottomed it. That's really crazy, have you contacted Transition?

Then just turn the spring around a few turns and that should be enough preload.

I have a 600lb spring that you're welcome to try. I do find that there is a fair amount of sag with my shock but I've yet to notice a harsh bottom with the dhx 5 coil.
Another option for your dhx air would be to send it to Push to get it dialed for your weight/riding style.

I haven't noticed it bottoming super easy but it is quite plush. It might benefit from a 550lb spring.
How do u like it with the air shock??

You have to put more air in it. On the coil if you have the 5.0 you can turn the bottom out resistance knob two full turns in. It's the blue one on top of the resevoir. tell me if it works.

I run a 500lb. and I'm 178. It was a little on the soft side though, for downhill racing, but if your hucking it would be better at around 550 or 600lb.
